Introducing Online Registration

The New Year brings a calendar full of diocesan events, as well as time for training of new Lay Eucharistic Ministers and of all those renewing their licenses, and the beginning of the 2003 Diocesan School Spring Semester on Jan. 18.

We want to remind everyone that the preferred method of registration for all diocesan events and classes is now online, on the diocesan website at www.diosef.org. It is the fastest and most efficient way for you to let us know that you plan to participate in an activity, and it is now possible not only to register online, but also to use a credit card to pay registration fess online as well.

We know that some of you may not have Internet access at your home or office, but a neighboring parish or your local library can provide you with access to the website. As the ministries of our diocese and our parishes expand, electronic communication has become an essential tool for us to use in sharing valuable information.

How do you register online?

Go to www.diosef.org, and move the cursor down the left side of the front page to “REGISTER”. This will bring you to the listing of coming events for which registration is currently available. Click on the event for which you are going to register, and the registration form will appear. If there is a registration fee, the registration form will permit you to enter credit card information. If you prefer to mail a check--or for some events, pay at the door—click on the line at the top of the form that says, “to pay by mail or at the event”, to reach a version of the form that does not require credit card information.

Please don't hesitate to call me if you have any difficulties with online registration, or questions regarding registering for any diocesan event. We are all learning together to use this new technology, and we will not get everything right the first time, but we believe we’ll all soon be wondering why we used so much time and paper doing registration any other way.

Your patience, cooperation and willingness to let us know what’s working--and what isn’t—will help the diocesan staff to be a better resource for your ministries and the mission we all share.
