Disaster
Assistance
If you have damage
from Hurricane Frances, it's important to report it to FEMA and get
a claim number, even if you have already contacted your insurance company.
You can ask for grants to help pay for temporary housing, home repairs
and other serious disaster-related expenses. Low-interest loans from
the U.S. Small Business Administration are also available to cover
residential and businesses losses not fully compensated by insurance.
The numbers for FEMA
are:
1-800-621-FEMA (3362)
(TTY 1-800-462-7585 for the deaf
and hard of hearing)
These toll-free numbers
are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, until further notice.
There is also a Disaster
Recovery Center located at Burns Road and Military Trail, where FEMA
claims can be made in person.
You will need to
have the following information available when you apply for assistance,
whether in person or by phone:
- Address and phone number where
you can be reached
- Social Security number
- Current mailing address
- Date damage occurred
- Address of the affected property
- Brief description of the damages
- Insurance information
- Family gross income
