Notes from the
Episcopal 73rd General Convention in Denver
July 10, 2000

General Convention Notes-July 10, 2000

Anti-gay protesters--including, to everyone's horror, young children--carrying signs with messages of hate greeted delegates as they walked toward the Convention Center this morning. These were not Episcopalians, however, and debate inside was serious and respectful.

The House of Deputies today elected a Floridian, Vincent Currie of Pensacola, diocesan administrator of the Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast, as its Vice-President.
