More scenes from Convention

Despite a full schedule, delegates found time to visit exhibits.

Scouts were on hand to help Scouting Committee Chair Penny Harding distribute materials about Scouting programs in our churches.

Seminarian Donna Hall talks with the Rev. Jennie Lou Reid about  Seminary of the Southwest.

Jim Gibson tells Dean Gabe Sinisi about materials available for the Jerusalem 2000 campaign

Diocesan youth were seen and heard, playing an important role in Convention.

Diocesan Youth Missioner Fr. Reggie Payne-Wiens talks with youth delegates.

In the youth display room, young musicians rehearse for their presentation.

The youth delegates prepare to vote.

The Youth Commission president casts his ballot.

Young people surprised Bishop Frade with a birthday cake, balloons and the gift of a chasuble and stole decorated by participants in the Children's Sunday service on Oct. 13.

There were other gifts presented also--

Bishop Frade thanked Canon SuzeAnne Silla, who has announced that she will end her 10-year ministry in the Diocesan Office at the end of the year, with a hug and a gift from the diocese--a crystal cross.

The bishop received a similar cross from the clergy.

Canon Kerry Robb, ending his term as secretary of Convention, received a plaque--and a biretta, headgear he said he would "be glad to share with the new archdeacons".

Priests ordained since last year's Convention were introduced.

Left to right are the Revs. Denise Hudspeth, Carol Barron, Susan Keedy, Kimberly Knight and Keith Johnson.

Clergy spouses are ready for a more active role in the diocese--

Here they prepare to express their concern about a resolution which would have reduced the amount budgeted for a clergy spouse wellness event. (Another solution was found for apparently conflicting demands, and the resolution was withdrawn.)

A new super-hero for the diocese--Blue Box Man!

Bishop Frade collects funds for the United Thank Offering as diocesan Stewardship Chairman Manny Mesa watches this unusual reminder that giving comes from grateful hearts.

Allen Meadors, the South Dade Deanery's chief liaison with the Radission Hotel, joins his wife Eva in Convention's closing prayers.

Young participants leave with tangible reminders of a day that offered much to celebrate.
